Wednesday, December 31st. NEW YEAR'S EVE!

Hello Folks, I hope everyone is able to function today, with all of the beautiful white stuff falling. We are do alright at the rink, however we are having to keep our Zamboni out pretty frequently, so I don't think anyone will be able to get much skating in today, but as soon as it stops we should be functional. Tomorrow should be a beautiful day at the rink and we hope to see you then. Remember, if the snow stops tonight before we are scheduled to be closed at 7, we will be open until 7, so we hope to see you then too. Take care everyone, and have a happy and safe new year!

Sunday, December 28th

Hello everyone, thanks for checking in. If any of you have stepped outside today, you would know that the temperature is much higher than it usually is in late December. Although we have an ice surface, it is very wet and we are going to slowly loose some ice throughout the day today, so unfortunately we will have to close for the day. However, I have looked at the forecast for tomorrow and temps are suppose to be closer to normal, and we should be able to open back up tomorrow. Thank you for understanding and we do look forward to skating with you very soon.


Also, we will be open New Years Eve and New Years Day from 11am to 7pm, so join us before or after we bring in the new year. See you then.

Saturday, Dec 27th, Cont.

Hello folks, just wanted to check in with everyone and let you know that we are still open today, however the rain is still coming down pretty heavily and the ice is pretty wet. We are anticipating that to change as the day progresses, but as of now the rain is still coming down. We will be here if you want to skate at your own discretion. Hope to see you soon!

Friday, December 26th

Hello folks, I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday vacation. We are very sad to announce that due to weather we experienced over the past couple of days with some warm weather, and rain, we have lost some of our ice, resulting in us having to close today, Friday December26th. We will be working very hard to reopen as soon as possible, and will notify on this blog, as well as our outgoing message on the rink telephone. Hello Folks, I just wanted to highlight a skater we had today. His name is Boyd Conklin, and he is a regular here at Kendall Square Community Ice Skating. Tuesday, December 23rd

Hello Folks, I would first like to thank everyone who joined us this past weekend for our Second Annual Kendall Square Holiday On Ice. I believe our goal of families and friends making memories and enjoying a little holiday cheer was achieved. Thanks again to Frozen Frog Productions for an amazing show and beautiful skating!

We are very happy to say that now that the cold has settled in we are very comfortably open, and our ice is in tip top shape, so I hope to see you at lunch today or after work for a little skating. Also, just so you know we are open tomorrow, December 24th, until 6pm, as well as Friday December 26th until 8pm, however, we are going to be closed Christmas day, Thursday, December 25th. Friday December 19th, and Saterday Dec 20th

Hello Folks, if you are checking in to see what the plan is for the snow storm and our Holiday show, here is the plan. We are planning on staying open today, Friday December 19Th, as long as we can, possibly to 9pm. If the snow starts to accumulate faster than an inch per hour, we might then have to close slightly early, but we are hoping for the best, which is staying open to our normal business hours for Friday, which are 9pm. Then we do plan on keeping the ice clear all evening into the morning in preparation for the Kendall Square Holiday On Ice show. We hope you are still planning on joining us. I got a sneak peak at the show yesterday morning and the acts look like they will be very entertaining! Happy Holidays and we hope to see you soon!

Wednesday, December 17th.......and we are OPEN!

Thank you all for being so patient. We are finally ready to open our doors and are actually open today, regardless of the dreary weather conditions. Tuesday, December 16th......still making ice

Hello Folks, well, I think Mother Nature is through playing with our lives in the Outdoor Ice Skating business, the rest of the week's temperatures look like we are going to be functional on a regular basis in no time. Due to yesterday's high temps, however, we will need to take advantage of today's low temps to bring our ice back up to skating level, so we will unfortunately be closed for the day today. I do have high hopes for tomorrow, however it is hard to tell until we see what progress we make today. Thanks again for checking in, and we should be fully functional before you know it. Monday, December 15th

Hello Folks, and thanks for checking us out on the web today! We are experiencing temperature difficulties with the Ice today, exceeding 50 degrees, and will not be able to be open, however we were open yesterday successfully and look forward to tomorrow being open again! So sorry for this year's delays due to Mother Nature, and we look forward to skating with you as soon as possible! Thanks again for checking in!

Opening Day!

We are making a couple of final touches to the ice and plan to open for ice skating tomorrow Sunday December 14th from 11am to 6pm. We look forward to skating with you!

The Free Holiday on Ice Show has been postponed until Saturday December 20th

Hello Everyone! Today was a difficult day for the skating rink set up process. We are still very excited to open, however we are going to have to push it back a few more days. I am hoping that we will be able to open possibly Friday, maybe Saturday. I will make sure that I update this blog as soon as I know further. Also, due to our set up delays, the Holiday Show has been delayed to Saturday, December 20th. Everything will be exactly the same regarding times and food and even free admission, the only difference is we are postponing the date. Rink Opening Update

Hello Folks, Thanks for checking in on our progress here at the Kendall Square Community Ice Skating rink. We are working very hard day and night to get the ice ready for skating. As some of you may already know, we were trying to open for today (Tuesday, December 9th) however the process of making ice has delayed us further. We are hoping that the weather will cooperate with us so we can open Thursday December 11th. If it gets too warm and rainy, we might have to delay opening yet again to Friday. If that happens, I will put up another blog to let all of you know. Thanks again folks, and we do look forward to being open and skating very soon! Holiday on Ice

Kendall Square Community Ice Skating's Free Holiday on Ice shows are coming up this Saturday at 2 PM and 5 PM.

The shows will feature skating performances by former stars of Disney on Ice and Ice Capades, and US Nationals and International Medalists. The shows will be emceed by former Ringling Brothers circus star, Chris Allison as Bucky the Clown.

Free food and beverages will also be provided.
