CLOSING EARLY FOR THE SEASON. Today is the last day for ice skating

Due to a number of factors, Kendall Square Community Ice Skating will have to close it's doors for the season after JUST TODAY, Sunday, March 11th.  We are sad to see that skating season end early, but Mother Nature has decided to give us tulips and daffodils early this year.  I want to thank everyone who participated in making this skating season one of the BEST we have ever had, and we appreciated getting to know through the joy of ice skating under the open sky.  We hope to see you all, and more next season.

We are also very excited for our upcoming PADDLING season.  Yup, if you didn't already know, we have a canoe and kayak rental business in Kendall Square as well.  We are scheduled to open on the week of May 1st, but if we have a beautiful weekend in April, check our website to see if we're open early.  Check out:  paddleboston.com to learn more.

Open today, Friday, March 9th, but also building ice we lost yesterday.

We will be open today, but we will only have about 70% of our ice that is skate-able.  The temps are suppose to drop this evening, so I anticipate being able to build our ice back up pretty quickly, but for today, we will not have a full ice surface open.  as always, you can check our facebook, twitter, the website, phone message, and this blog for the most up to date information about openings and closings.  We hope to see you before we close for the season.  Happy Skating! 

CLOSED today, Thursday, March 8th, due to the EXTREMELY warm temps.

Hello Folks!  Due to the EXTREMELY warm temps today and tonight, we are going to have to close the rink until further notice. We have no idea what kind of damage the temps will cause to the rink until it hopefully cools off again, and only then will we know when we can open back up, so stay tuned, and we will let you know on our facebook twitter, this blog, our website, and the phone message at the rink as soon as we know we can re-open.  So sorry for any inconvenience, but isn't it awesome we all get to enjoy such a beautiful day?  It's beginning to look a lot like kayaking season....

Hello everyone, I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful day in the Boston area.  We sure are here at Kendall Square Community Ice Skating.  As you can see in this photo taken just moments ago, our ice is holding up for now, so we are open today, but for how long, it's hard to tell.  If we do end up closing due to warm temps, it will be here, on our facebook page, twitter, phone message, and our webpage.  Thanks for checking in, and we hope to see you on this extraordinarily warm March day in Kendall Square!  Happy Skating!

Saturday, March 3rd Delayed opening UPDATE: Opening at 3pm.

We are almost ready for opening, we just have to work on the ice a little bit more, so we are planning on opening at 3pm today, instead of 2pm.  We hope to see you when we are able to open.  Happy Skating! 

OPEN TODAY, SATURDAY MARCH 3rd, AT 2PM

The rain is suppose to go away today between 1pm and 2pm, so we plan on a delayed opening at 2pm.  Please join us for an afternoon or evening skate.  We will be open until 9pm.  Happy Skating everyone!

Iceland Air's Saturday, March 3rd Last Bostonian Skating event CANCELED due to rainy weather.

Unfortunately, because the weather forecast for tomorrow is for rain all day, our Iceland Air charity event has been canceled.  We are urging everyone to still make donations, large or small, to the Children's Hospital of Boston, which was the purpose of the event in the first place.  We look forward to collaborating with Iceland Air again next year in hopes for better weather and an even better event to benefit the Children's Hospital of Boston.  We hope you join us then.  Happy Skating everyone!
